The Fluffy Collection - An Album of Recent Greatest Hits
A few pieces of background - and I'm taking new ghostwriting clients!
Thank you so much for joining me and Loviefluffy, the black rescue cat, on our journey!
A little bit about me: I graduated from Yale in 1996 and worked as a union organizer and director of organizing for 20 years, almost entirely in healthcare. Then I got my Masters in Public Health from Thomas Jefferson University and have worked in harm reduction, been a COVID case investigator for Pennsylvania, worked in low carb nutrition research with Professor Richard David Feinman, and taught in urban public schools. Currently I’m freelance writing and ghostwriting. Skip to the end if you’re interested in working with a ghostwriter to get that idea you had in the shower to publication, spice up your professional website, or finally write that book you’ve been talking about for years.
Here are some pieces I’ve published:
On Israel and antisemitism:
I Stand With My Jewish Friends (I was shocked at the uproar this created. I thought a few of my college and high school friends would like it and that would be that. All of a sudden I started to have friends from around the world!)
Support Peaceful Free Expression - Stand Up to the Angry Mob
Israel Under Attack (A report from when I heard a survivor of the Nova Music Festival speak at UPenn)
If Hamas Supporters and the Media Praise Suicide…
On sex, men and gender politics:
Why I’d Rather Consume Good Writing than Porn
The Hierarchy of Unavailable Men
On grief:
Why Can’t You Just Get Over It?
Fun stuff:
Don’t Take Childless Cat Ladies for Granted
How Did the Goat Get Here? (The last line in the dialogue leading up to this, for those of you who read it, was, “We will call my next boyfriend Mr. Prime Minister, even if he is a goatherd!”)
I have a whole lot of published works on recovery and harm reduction but those are so wildly off topic for most of the new subscribers that I’ll leave them out. If you’re interested, check out April Wilson Smith Filter Magazine and April Smith ProTalk. I had more than fifty pieces at ProTalk but they took most of them down before I had a chance to archive them.
I also ghostwrite a lot and I protect the confidentiality of my clients. If you are interested in a ghostwriter, hit me up! I’m flexible, fun and FAST! I can take that idea you had in the shower and turn it into a publication in no time flat.
