What I do as a ghostwriter and content creator

I’m sharing a little bit about the work I do as a ghostwriter and content creator. I’m currently able to work with new clients, and would love it if you would make any introductions you find appropriate. Or maybe it’s about time you wrote that article/blog/memoir you’ve been working on in the shower…

My current clients include nonprofit advocacy groups, medical professionals, a law firm, and private individuals. I do a few different things:

— You Talk, I Write style articles and posts, detailed in the linked post, where the client talks through what they want to say, I type quickly creating verbatim notes, and then I organize the piece and make it sound fantastic. The words are the client’s, the ideas are the client’s, but I take the ideas out of their head and turn them into a polished article.

— Straight up content creation. For very busy professionals who just want fresh, engaging and original content for their professional websites, this requires almost no effort on the part of the client. We agree on a topic, I research and write it.

— Combination therapy for your website: the client provides the basic content, I work it into a well-written, easy to read piece. Usually the client has the information required close to hand and can either outline it to me on the phone and send me a few notes, or can just send me the notes and I make the article happen. This is especially good in situations where I’m writing outside my own field for a client who is a subject matter expert in theirs.

— The Shower to Publication Pipeline: That idea that has been swimming around in a client’s brain, often for months or years, but that they just don’t have the time, energy and focus to write. Often I will work from start to finish on this one, developing an outline with the client, gathering the needed materials, getting a sense of the client’s voice. Some of these pieces are taken from notes the client already had or dictated to me on the phone. This is a collaborative and dare I say fun process, and it can relieve the pressure in the brain that builds up when there’s an idea bursting to escape but no way to get it out there.

— Editing or reworking pieces for publication in a specific venue.

— Longer pieces such as memoirs or books.

— Pretty much anything! I’m open to talking about any project!

I love working with people from all different professions and fields to bring their ideas to the rest of the world, spice up their websites, and add more exciting original content to the universe. Brilliant people tend to be busy, and even great writers have so many other things on their plates that sitting down and writing may be a luxury they cannot afford.

The client owns the product, and all final edits are theirs.
