I am extremely thankful for you and people like you! I am from the Jewish Zionist component of your fan club, and interacting with non Jews who support Israel is a life saver for me. I go to work every day and I wonder which of my coworkers would cheer if my family were massacred. I wonder every day whether I’m not a fool for not leaving NYC, where one million people have at best decided it’s ok to vote in a Jew hater for mayor and at worst voted for him BECAUSE he’s a Jew hater. I also enjoy your non Israel related content. I hope it isn’t terribly un American of me to have no plans for Thanksgiving. You see, there are a million and one Jewish holidays where I have to cook, serve and clear the table for days on end. Just can’t do it again. Hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, your mom and your dad in your thoughts.

Some fun facts about Pilgrims, they crossed an ocean to worship freely, to make a new life, viewed themselves through the Hebrew Bible, crossing the Red Sea to America, their Promised Land, “New Israel”.

The Pilgrims, like the Israelites, experienced religious oppression, migration, endured dire conditions: starvation, sickness, death, ultimately freedom and a blessing in their new land.

William Bradford brought Hebrew to the new world, he considered it to be the oldest existing language.

The first Thanksgiving 1621 is connected to the Jewish blessings of (Birkat HaGomel) thanking God for crossing the ocean, arriving at a destination, surviving illness and freedom from imprisonment.

Sukkot and Feast of Tabernacles, Jewish agricultural and historical holiday, celebrates harvest and honors Israelites' journey during their 40 years of wandering in the desert.

Water offerings and prayers for rain are to remember that the bounty is not only the result from men’s hard work but that God/Nature has a major part, that in the end he is in charge.

My parents are both gone, a good number of years now; I'll be spending Thanksgiving with close friends (but 90 mi. away), who have cats.

Enjoy your turkey!
