1) "...terrible challenges," Challenges are not terrible; *problems* are. Challenge has to be the most misused word in the language. Please don't say 'challenge' when you really mean: issue; problem; difficulty; crisis; outrage; disease; or traffic jam (yes, I have heard/seen challenge used for ALL of those).
2) What a shame that teachers have to spend money on supplies for their students. I've read this in any number of places. It certainly wasn't like that when I went to school, but that was a long time ago...
1)-interesting—does a challenge mean something that one can solve? Would the described situations be preferably called crises, insurmountable obstacles?
2)—if teachers need to pay for students’ supplies, and they do it, that is compassion. And compassion is a characteristic of G-D.
However, (3)—the theft problem—is a mountain of trouble. Beginning with violating the commandment to not covet anything that belongs to someone else. There is a story in Bible about two cities that were filled with robberies and violence. And they were destroyed by fire from heaven.
According to my dictionary, challenge = stimulating or interesting task or problem. So there is some overlap, but I would say yes, something that one can solve.
I wondered why you criticized this writer who has written about kindness and empathy and people who tried to do what was best while existing in circumstances of distress. Haven’t you had any trouble in your life? Can’t you understand what the writer was saying? Instead of bickering about the current hatred so thick in our atmosphere today?
If I’m too tired to get out of bed and go to my computer to edit the post now and I having a challenge or a problem? It’s my bedtime as I get up before five so this is normal but it does make it difficult for me to change my post before morning.
I’ll fix the challenge problem tomorrow. Thank you for pointing out this issue.

Proper use of language is important to me. If you re-read my post, I think you'll see that I wasn't 'bickering.'
No, not you, the whole world is bickering at each other, and she was putting the light on something that is good.
I try to highlight good things when I can.
What is more important: being kind to someone whom you do not know and who was documenting several gemelut chasadim, or criticizing their words?
I wasn't being unkind. And note -- April liked my post.
Love you S Levin, loyal subscriber. It’s all all good.
What a very good story.
