Loviefluffy is inexplicably drawn to white blankets. As soon as I put one down, she starts to make biscuits on it. I have asked her if her mommy was a white cat, as that might explain this love of white blankets. She can not quite answer me.
When you get to know a person well, you usually find out all about their family. Who their parents were, what their childhood was like. Entire systems of psychological theory are based on family of origin issues and family systems. I find it odd that we know our cats so well, yet we often know nothing about their parents, even what color cat they were.
If you have a purebred cat, you may know quite a bit about their parents and even grandparents. If you have a Siamese, you know you have a Siamese. They are Siamese if you please, they are Siamese if you don’t please. Just ask Professor Friedman, the father of a beautiful Siamese.
You can also know a lot about a cat by the color of their coat. Cats really do tend to have cat-on-alities based on their coat color. Tortitude is real. Black cats really are the most playful and smartest. Orange tabbies tend to be easy going and loving like my young friend’s cat who joins him on Zoom meetings and adores his one year old daughter and large dog. Some might say it is racist to judge a cat by their color, but facts are facts.
I wish I knew about Loviefluffy’s mommy and her dad. I imagine her father as a sleek black street cat, roaming the streets of the neighborhood where she was born and catching every mouse, plus collecting some treats from admiring humans. She was a porch cat and somewhat feral when I rescued her, so I assume her parents were outdoor cats. I wonder if it was a mixed race marriage of black and white cat? Once scandalous among American humans, totally socially acceptable among cats. See how much more advanced cats are than humans?
My friend Liz, a wonderful kitty mommy who adopted the beautiful Clara, a fluffy black kitten, from Project MEOW, just had a human baby yesterday. The baby will know who her mommy is! Liz is such a cat person that her baby may grow up thinking she’s a cat, which would be pawsome! I’m sure Clara will be an excellent big sister, and Liz will be a wonderful human mommy. Congratulations Liz! Another operative for Cat World Domination is born!
It’s a rough time with my dad’s illness right now, and I am so grateful to all of you who sent kind messages and all who are just keeping my family in your thoughts and prayers. It means a great deal to me. Readers of this blog cover the entire world and the whole political spectrum, but the thing you all seem to have in common is your love and kindness. You are the best.
Happy Tuesday to all, and happy mommyhood to Liz!
" Just ask Professor Friedman:" do you perhaps mean Professor Feinman?
