Josh the First
I love Governor Shapiro
Sometimes when I have a little downtime I watch Josh Shapiro videos on Facebook.
Governor Shapiro is the picture of a sane moderate. He’s proud to be an American and proud to be a Jew. The way he handled the Passover firebombing of his home was nothing short of presidential.
I really wish Governor Shapiro would run for President. I would work for Shapiro. Could he wrestle the Democratic Party back into sanity? Right now, I doubt it. But eventually, maybe?
Could the Party of Performative Meltdowns get behind a candidate who is just so freakin normal as Josh Shapiro? He’s a straight, married man with children. I think he has a dog. Pretty sure he doesn’t have a cat which is a weakness but no one is purrfect.
He stands behind law enforcement and shows up when officers are hurt or killed. He stands for keeping Medicaid benefits, for providing school lunches to kids in need. He is a religious person, which is so uncool for the Democrats. He might actually win the purple areas where supposedly liberal women snuck out and voted red, perhaps while lying to their liberal boyfriends about it. Or maybe they told the truth. I don’t know, I try not to ask personal questions.
Question for the sisters: did every Jewish woman in America have a crush on Governor Shapiro when he was being considered as a VP pick? I’m so glad he wasn’t the pick and I bet he wouldn’t have taken it. He is not meant to play second, and certainly not to be VP Harris’ escort to defeat.
(For the record, I will always refer to the former Vice President by her proper title, Vice President Harris. I dislike it when women politicians get called by their first names, even when they market themselves that way. She is not my personal friend, she is the former holder of the second highest office in our country, and she deserves the respect of being referred to by her title.)
I have a secondary motive for wishing that Governor Shapiro would run for President.
Wait for it…
This very serious panther princess has her eye on another Josh whom she eventually would like to see run for high office.
Not that long ago, her mother worked with a young Jewish Josh who has a passion for public service and who embodies all of the qualities we are hoping to see in the generation that is coming to power. This particular Josh, also Jewish, also a resident of Pennsylvania, has the creepy normality of Josh Shapiro, is married with appropriate dog, cat and kid, and is almost a cardboard cutout of honorable young man.
Emblematic, kids, is the vocabulary word. Emblematic of what could make this country a place we are all proud to live in. My Josh is a center liberal, not extreme on anything. If you find it comforting, he thinks I have gone too far Right on Israel and sent me a book on Liberal Zionism in an effort no doubt to save my soul.
At a time when our civilization is threatened by those who would destroy it, either from outside or from within, I would work for either Josh. If the state and the nation get used to one Jewish Josh from Pennsylvania, a second should be a short step.

Your cat has beautiful eyes.
Do you not see what is going on in this country? No Jew would ever get even close to the presidency, not on the Democrat side nor the Republican side. Plus, the Democrats have bent the knee so far to the radical leftists that no sane moderate could possibly become a Democrat presidential nominee. I should know, now that a Jew hating communist is about to become the mayor of my city and every former so called middle of the road Democrat politician is falling over themselves to support him.
