My concern with mayor of NYC is being asleep at the wheel and allowing crime to skyrocket and NYC to become unlivable. That is what I was worried about during the election. A mayor doesn’t have to be evil, just incompetent and/or delusional/ideologically captured.
I do think that Mamdani is worse than that.
I don’t think that Dinkins was evil. But I do think that he fundamentally failed at being mayor of NYC.
“Mamdani and his friends are hellbent on erasing America.” Nah. America is going to erase them. And sooner than you think. Mayor Mad Mammy has his foot shackled to a concrete block. That cinder block is NYC — and its gonna drag him under the East River.
While not a devotee of Mamdani (I voted for Curtis Sliwa, largely because he and his wife have had as many as 17 cats), I think this is hysteria. Jewish, Irish and Italian neighborhoods WERE "immigrant enclaves"—three generations ago! The second generations of those ethnic groups largely decamped to the suburbs, and the former enclaves have been gentrified beyond recognition.
