And I totally agree with you about stopping everything until all kids can read at grade level. educators should be ashamed of themselves that they act as if this is normal.
Sorry you didn't get the job. Maybe they were looking for someone with an MEd. But I've met MEds who were idiots. The one I knew best actually had credits toward a doctorate. She had a photographic memory (I think that must be how she got through school), but she understood *nothing*.
