My father once described our family as “Jewish Conscious,” which meant he never went to synagogue, which sounded a little racist to me. Anyway, I was a teenager wise-ass at the time and asked him what he thought I had in common with Meyer Lansky or Sandy Koufax.
Observant can mean willing to put things on the line for what you believe in, not lip service.
In that sense, an important one, you are observant.
